Fredericton, NB Permanent Full-time Part-time Any experience

Downtown Optometry does not strive for high volume- but for high quality.  Our team is well trained, supportive and innovative. It includes 3 Optometrists, 2 dual licensed opticians, several Assistants, techs and Admin specialists.

Our clinic offers 4 fully outfitted, mirrored exam lanes.  Our Pretest includes: NCT and iCare, Auto Refraction, Auto K, Pachemetry, Retinal Photos and OCT, we have a Humphrey VF Analyzer.  We use Optosys Software for our EHR and Scheduling/invoicing, recalls etc.

As an independent practice- we can carry in our optical any product we feel is best for patients and optimized treatment outcomes.  Our options are not limited.

Our Schedules are full and we are having to turn away new patients as we are too busy- this would provide an immediate revenue stream for an Optometrist joining us.

Some of the benefits of working with us:

  • -        Mentorship and team support for young ODs who are new to practice is something that is important at DTOC!  We are currently an externship site for UWOVS 4th year student placements.
  • -            Work life balance: our clinic is closed on weekends.
  • -            Licensed Optometrists in NB can prescribe any/all topical or oral medications for treatment of ocular conditions.  We can independently manage Glaucoma.
  • -            NB Optometrists don’t bill provincial Medicare, so we can set our own fees and adjust them to inflation or market forces.

Remuneration is structured as a percentage of exams and retail sales. This will be adjusted to experience and whether you are PT or FT.  A per day minimum is guaranteed for the first year.

Interested in learning more? reach out to us and we can schedule a virtual meeting or if you are super keen come by for a visit! Hope to hear from you soon!
