Job Description

 

We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Optometrist Assistant to join our eye care team. The ideal candidate will support our optometrist with patient care, preliminary testing, and administrative tasks. A passion for patient service and a strong interest in eye health are essential.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and check in patients, verify insurance information, and update records

  • Perform pre-testing procedures (e.g., visual acuity, tonometry, auto-refraction)

  • Assist patients with frame selection and lens options, Schedule appointments and manage patient flow

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, Educate patients on contact lens care and eyewear usage

  • Prepare exam rooms and assist the optometrist as needed, Handle phone inquiries and customer service tasks


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Previous experience in optometry or a medical office preferred, Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Comfortable using computer systems and electronic medical records (EMR)

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, Friendly, professional demeanor with a strong focus on customer service
